2 to 4mm thick, and 16 to 22mm edge to edge, this strand weighs only 96 grams. All natural colors evoking algae blooms we call pond slime are very pleasant due to the high luster of these pearls.
This is a Non-nucleated 2nd harvest (keshi) Chinese freshwater pearl. This is a strand of thin and sometimes deeply curved petal like pearls sometimes called "corn flakes". They are drilled at the top creating a petal like affect. Once fairly common, large petals are on the wane, because large, flat pearl sacs are less frequently left non-nucleated. Coin and lightweight coins are usually thicker, and can be drilled across. This amazing strand is 15" long and weighs 96g; it will make a show stoping necklace.
